    Embarked Wellington, 8 February 1918; disembarked Liverpool, England, 29 March 1918, and marched in to Infantry Reserve Brigade, Brocton, and reverted to Lance Corporal.
    Reverted to ranks at own request, 8 May 1918.
    Qualified as 1st class Signaller, 21 August 1918.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 18 September 1918; joined 1st Bn, Otago Infantry Regiment, in the field, 21 September 1918, and posted to 4th Company.
    Wounded in action, 8 October 1918.
    Subsequently reported killed in action, 8 October 1918.
