  • In August 1939, Park served as a military liason officer in London, in this position he was involved in the arrangements for the 2nd Echlon of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, he was seconded for the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force in October 1941, commanding the United Kingdom Section of the Force, he held this position until December 1946. From February 1942, he was the New Zealand Representative on the British Chiefs of Staff Committee Joint Planning Staff in London. In the Paris Peace Conference in 1946, he served as the military adviser to the New Zealand delegation

    Commanded the Northern Military District from 1947 to 1950, Retired in July 1950. He was recalled from retirement to take up appointment of Kayforce Commander from 29 August 1950 to 28 November 1953. AWMM
