  • Keith Mason was the son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. A. Mason, of Hillwood, Hukanui, Wellington, New Zealand.

The following extract regarding Mason's death is taken from a letter written by Joseph Alvan Simpkin, Brockton Camp, to his mother in New Zealand, dated 1 November 1918: "I heard a little while ago that the mate who has come all the way from Tauherenikau with me is very seriously ill in the hospital. You will see his name in that magazine I sent you. It was Keith E Mason." [Ref. MS 2008/23, Folder 1] AWMM
