  • Alfred Percival Eustace, of Church Street Otahuhu. He was born 1897 to William Arthur Eustace, a slaughterman, and Alice Mary née Boone. He was one of four boys - Arthur William b 1895, Walter Boone b 1899, and Leonard Seddon b 1906. Alfred’s father is listed as Alfred William but this must be in error as nobody by this name seems to have existed. Before enlisting in the B company of the Wellington Infantry, 34th regiment Alfred was a postman. He married Rita Madge Pearse in 1926. The couple both lived in Otahuhu until they died - Rita in 1969 and Alfred 1971. Alfred is interred in Otahuhu Cemetery.
