  • At the outbreak of the First World War, Alan Douglas Anderson had just completed his medical training at the London University College, he enlisted with the Royal Army Medical Corps in August 1914, where he served as a Lieutenent with the No 3 Casualty Clearing Station until August 1915. He returned to New Zealand for family reasons, and subsequently enlisted with the New Zealand Medical Corps in 1917.

    During the Second World War he served with the National Military Reserve, 14th Fortress Field Ambulance, and did not embark overseas. (Personnel File) AWMM
