(Church, p.135)4 October 1918, whilst in the Crevecoeur area near the Scheldt Canal, Edward Meek was wounded accidently in his right leg. He was evacuated to England and transferred to No.1 NZGH, Brockenhurst on 20 December."His injury was not the cause of his death, but the conditions under which he was living when he received it no doubt contributed to the development of phthisis pulmonalis (tuberculosis of the lung).
