  • Commemorating the sacrifice of my great grandfather,Away from home and family, an infant son (grandfather) and wife awaiting his eventual return. Maumahara, we his descendants think of him, his comrades and their sacrifices. We also think of those who remained at home waiting and hoping for safe return. And to those who were not so fortunate with safe return of whanau. We acknowledge those who continued to sacrifice in conflicts from then, and to now.
