  • Embarked Wellington, 24 April 1918; disembarked London, England, 21 June 1918, and marched in to Reserve Bn, Wellington Infantry Regiment, Sling Camp.
    Marched in to Composite Bn, Larkhill, 3 September 1916.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 18 September 1918; joined 2nd Bn, Wellington Infantry Regiment, in the field, 23 September 1918.
    Wounded in action, 1 October 1918 (gun shot wound, leg), and admitted to 8th Field Ambulance, and transferred to 49th Casualty Clearing Station; transferred same day to Ambulance Train, and admitted to 20th General Hospital, Camiers, 3 October 1918; transferred to England, 4 October 1918, and admitted same day to No 2 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames; transferred to Military Hospital, Rochester (date not recorded).
    Appointed Temporary Corporal, 4 April 1919; relinquished temporary rank, 17 July 1919.
    Commenced return to New Zealand on board SS 'Athenic', 15 January 1920; discharged, 2 April 1920.
    Total war service: 2 years 162 days (of which 1 year 316 days was abroad).
