  • William Ralph Spencer Owen (known as Bill) was my wonderful Grandfather. I was born and grew up in England and only met him on one or two occasions growing up. At aged 28 years I decided to relocate to New Zealand as my Granddad was alone (his only child - my mother, had left NZ aged 21 years and was still living in NZ). The decision to move to NZ in 1994 was the best decision I have made as I spent 4 or so years getting to know a wonderful, intelligent, kind and gentle man who was my Grandfather. I am extremely proud to call him my Granddad, and I hope there is something of him that he has passed on to me, his Granddaughter and her Great-Grand children who also got to know him for a brief time.
