  • Obituary
    CAPTAIN R. MAYHEAD (O.C.) WAIUKU, Thursday. The death occurred in the Wanganui Hospital yesterday of Captain Reginald Mayhead, aged 56 years, of Waipipi. He was second in command of the Waiuku Battalion of the Home Guard, and was attending an officers' tactical course at Wanganui when he became ill. Born in England, Captain Mayhead came to New Zealand over 30 years ago to take up farming. He served on the instructional staff of the Army in New Zealand and overseas during the last war, and since then he had been farming at Waipipi.
