    • Second-Lieutenant E. R. Black, who has been wounded, is a son of Mr and Mrs G. J. Black, of Kaiti. He left Gisborne with the Legion of Frontiersmen, and was attached to the second reinforcements of the Otago Mounted Rifles After the big engagement on Gallipoli in August last, Lieut. Black was sent to Malta, for a rest, and he subsequently returned to the Peninsula and was in charge of the troops of mounted men who were the last to leave Gallipoli at the time of the evacuation. Subsequently Lieut. Black, and his brother, Lieut. G, H. Black, were transferred to the Otago Infantry. The .relatives have received, a cable from Lieut. E R. Black, stating that he had a flesh wound which was not serious, and that he was on his way to England.     • Lieutenant E. R. Black, youngest son of Mr. G. J. Black, of Gisborne, has been wounded for the second time. This young soldier was a member of the Second Reinforcements, and saw service at Gallipoli, coming through that strenuous campaign without a scratch. After the evacuation he transferred to the infantry and was wounded at the Somme.
