    • Moeraki then transhipped to [HMAT 17] Malta at Sydney for Suez. AWMM
    • He was the son of Herbert Oberlin & Agnes BROWN (nee Mason). His brother also enlisted - Hubert Nigel Oberlin Brown (13/170)

      On 25th August 1913, he married Annabella Margaret ‘Ella’ FINLAYSON. After the war they settled and farmed in Ngararatunua. They had six children – Angus (1914), Hubert (b1917), Patricia (b1918), Nancy (b1920), Arthur (b1922) and Geraldine (b1928).

      He had three brother-in-law’s who also served with NZEF - Alexander Cameron Monteith (13/150) and Angus Archibald (16292), Charles Hauptman (13/183). Public - Sandra - Researcher - 26 November 2018 - Waipu Museum
