  • His parents (Henry William and Margaret Northcroft) were living in Rarotonga at the time of his enlistment. His father, Henry William Northcroft was the resident magistrate and the Chief Justice and Resident Commissioner of the Cook Islands between 1913 and 1915.

    His father served in the New Zealand Wars, holder of the New Zealand Cross.

    Attended Auckland Grammar School.

    Attended Auckland University College (now the University of Auckland).

    His name is listed on the Auckland War Memorial Museums' World War 1 Hall of Memories and on the New Zealand Lawyers Roll of Honour.
