  • My most defining memories of my grandfather were he always with a pipe in his mouth, and when we played at his home when my sister and I were very young aged 4 & 6, if we squealed or were noisy he would take us to the kitchen open a cupboard door which had his dental surgical instruments on the back of it and a Jar of tongues on the shelf and say, "These are the tongues of children that made too much noise". Suffice to say, we played quietly after that.
