    • Initially enlisted with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force before joining the Royal Flying Corps. AWMM
    • Harry enlisted with the NZEF at Trentham on 9th October 1915, however he was discharged at his own request to take Flying instructions. He obtained his Flying Certificate on a Curtiss Flying Boat at the New Zealand Aviation school at Kohimarama on 20th November 1916. He served in France and Italy with 41st Squadron RAF from 19th January 1917 and he was reported as wounded in April 1918. He was involved in an Aeroplane crash in 1919 where he received injuries to his face and chest. He was the son of Henry Collier and Eliza Catherine Parkes and to of his brothers also served during the First World War. 2nd Lieutenant Frank Stanford Collier also with the RAF and 12747 Driver Arthur Reginald Collier with the New Zealand Field Artillery.
