  • Frank was the son of Henry Collier and Eliza Catherine Parkes. He obtained his Flying certificate on a Caudron Biplane at the Canterbury Flying School in Christchurch on 29th September 1918. He served in the United Kingdom after the war had just ended. After returning to New Zealand he continued farming and he married Catherine Mary Ramson in 1925. Two of his brothers served in the First World War, Lieutenant Harry Waldo Collier with 41st Squadron RAF and 12747 Driver Arthur Reginald Collier with the New Zealand Field Artillery.
