      Flying School, Christchurch, New Zealand. Referred to as Cadet Hair in Nominal Rolls AWMM
    • His Flying certificate was taken in a Curtiss Flying Boat at the New Zealand Flying School in Kohimarama on 28th September 1918. He had been called up during the ballot for Military service on 26th October 1917, however he trained as a Pilot and served at the end of the war in the United Kingdom in the Royal Air Forces.
