    • Name recorded as Hubba Faccorey in Soutar (2008) AWMM
    • Herbert Facoorey aka Hubba was Lebanese and served with the Māori Battalion. He embarked with the 5th Reinforcements. Hubba grew up in Te Araroa where his mother’s family, the Abrahams, ran the general store. He managed to enlist with the Māōri Battalion because the Māori recruiting officer, George Stainton, overrode the Pākehā clerk at the enlistment office.
