  • Mihi arohanui ki a koe e Koro Rua. He urutomo koe. Ka nui te aroha. Uncle you inspire me with your resilience, your leadership, your love for our whanau, hapu, iwi and nation. A master carver, an outstanding soldier, an ariki, and a father figure to the many tamatoa o Te Tairawhiti! You still are all these things to us, even though you passed away many years before I was able to learn about all your great feats. You make me so very proud to be Ngati Porou. I love and thank you for your sacrifice. Your grandniece, Jesamine Wanoa.
