  • I am researching an accident taking place on monday 03/05/1943 in witch the plane he flew crashed at the 'van Bossestraat'(street) in Amsterdam. He was the only survivor. His crewmembers of the Lockheed Ventura I AE780 from squadron 487: pilot S. McGowan, sgt. C.R. Smith and flying officer E.G. Thornber lost there lives there together with 6 citizens.
There is a plaquette on the house remembering this. And because my daughter came to live a few houses away I am busy to find out what happened there and then.
