  • Barbara Basham was the daughter of Maud Ruby (Aunt Daisy) Basham.

    She was a significant broadcaster beginning her career in Christchurch, then in Dunedin, Wellington, where she became Supervisor of Women's Programmes for the National programme. Subsequently she was appointed District Current Affairs Officer in Wellington, Deputy Editor of Spoken Features and finally Editor, Special Projects

    She was the women's editor of the NZRSA Review for over 20 years and produced a weekly programme for veteran's fronted by Cedric Mentiplay

    Awarded the NZRSA Gold Badge in 1981

    Barbara Basham received an MBE in 1981 for services to Broadcasting and Community. She was also a Justice of the Peace.
