  • Enid valued her time with the New Zealand Army Nursing Service (NZANS) hugely and made life long friends. While on leave she and her friends went to Palestine, Syria and Lebanon. After the war she worked as a nurse in London and Birmingham, and she came back to New Zealand to work in Christchurch Women's Hospital as Charge Sister. She was very interested in keeping up with her sisters, her brothers and all her neices and nephews. She was an active member of the Rugby Street Methodist Church. She enjoyed painting for most of her life; always laughing when she was usually the oldest person in the class! She drove a little Riley Elf car while she lived in Jed Lane, St. Albans, and led a very active life. In her later years she moved into a retirement village, still keeping up wth her art classes for as long as she was able. Family source. AWMM
