  • I'm leaving this poppy for John Owen because I don't think there is anyone else to do it. My great-grandmother Flora Strawbridge, a widow, was his 'next-of-kin' contact and listed as a 'friend'. As far as I know he wasn't married and his parents (if they were still alive) were in Scotland. My grandmother had his service medals and the telegrams sent to her mother to inform of John Owen's death at Ypres.
