  • One of Sallies highlights while on the HS Oranje with her ward of 100 patients. was the bringing of the mostly Australian POW's back from Shangei camp -telling of how they would hide the food they were given as they couldn't believe there was again going to be food and water on the next days -they also thought she was an angel -the Oranje did 4 trips, the last in June 1946 bringing prisoners back from the camps
