    The sad news has been received of the death in hospital at Lemnos on Ju)y 23 of Private R. W. Parkinson, brother of Mrs J. Johnson, of Wellington street, Gisborne. Private Parkinson, who was 24 years of age, the son of Mr and Mrs W. W. B. Parkinson, of Opotiki, left with the main body of the Expeditionary Force, with the 9th (Hawke's Bay), Company, .Wellington Infantry Battalion, and took :part in the historic landing at Gallipoli.
