'In the attack on CASSINO station, Italy, on the night of 17 February 1944 Private Bidois showed outstanding courage and determination of a high order. Both during and after consolidation the Company area was heavily shelled and mortared yet without thought for his own safety Private Bidois repeatedly visited platoon areas carrying messages to and from his Company Commander. On two occasions he went out under heavy machine-gun fire to carry wounded back to safety and when his Company Commander was wounded he was largely instrumental in having him safely evacuated.'.
