  • A medal was awarded for service during 1946-49.Valmai's war occupation prior to going overseas was V.A.D. attached to Civil Nursing Reserve working in NZ hospitals before entering the Army as a nurse. Valmai Ball (nee Nielsen) was married to Douglas Ball who served in the Pacific during the war. His record is attached to the Cenotaph Database. AWMM
