  • Susan Fraser joined the army because her parents, brother and all other relatives had been killed.

    She worked in the office of the Palestinian Force in Tel-Aviv and later in Cairo. In Cairo she met Lionel Albert Ealson whom she married. They went first to London (where their son Simon Roy Lionel Ealson was born on 19 June 1946) and later moved to Invercargill where David Ealson was born.

    Susan refused to accept her awards.

    Her first husband died in Invercargill and she later married Wilfred Fraser and has a very happy marriage. AWMM
