  • A daughter of a pioneer family in Hobsonville district by the name of Sinton who emigrated from Scotland in 1860.

    My first occupation was helping on the family farm prior to the family moving to Pukekohe district.

    Educated at Bombay and Pukekohe, then returning to Hobsonville at age 21 upon being allocated work at Thompson & Hills factory in Victoria Street, Auckland by the Manpower.

    Following work here enlisted in the army where she served until after the end of world war two. AWMM
