  • Lest we Forget
    Public - Angela - Other relative - 25 April 2016
  • From his Niece, Marie Dropulich (nee Black) and Family: We remember Aubrey. His last entry in his War Diary reads: Slept out. No blankets or great coat. Very cold in morning.
  • Killed in action, Gallipoli, Turkey, 8th August 1915 aged 22 years. Son of Charles Black and Te Tuhiwhakaura Paerau Black (nee Ihakara). He was born at Manganui Bluff with their Grandfather Aukaha acting as midwife. He was survived by his twin brother Stanley who remained at the family home in Dargaville and passed at the age of 85 - Aubrey was my Koro's first cousin; their mothers were sisters - they were of Ngati Tamakari of Lake Rotoehu.
    Public - Angela - Other Relative - 25 April 2015
  • Aubrey is a Cousin 2x. In the year of our 100 anniversary I am very proud of this family connection. Pity such commitment was not so evident today.
    Public - Tony - Other Relative - 13 April 2015
