    David Billington was shot by a sniper with a high powered rifle in Italy on Xmas Eve 1942.The bullet went through his chin and through his shoulder, leaving a large gaping hole. He was admitted to both 3 General Hospital (Italy) and 1 General Hospital (Helwan, Egypt), and remained incapacitated for a some years after. AWMM
