    Served in the NZ Division of the Royal Navy from 30 July 1941 to 15 November 1942 aboard HMNZS Leander.

    Was bases at HMNZS Philomel from 16 November 1942 to 8 March 1943.

    Married Anne Patricia Lockyer of Te Aroha at "St Matthews in the City", Auckland on 17 February 1943.
