  • Terence was the son of Mr G A McLean and Mrs J E McLean. His father was a borough councillor in the early 1940s, and also a New Zealand Railways employee. The family lived at 361 Mataroa Road.

    He attended primary school at Taihape Convent School and Secondary school at St Patricks, Wellington.

    He married Marie Therese Bradford at Waitara. He had four children: Michael Terence 13.2.63, Helen Barbara 24.3.64, Christine Mary 16.7.66, and Brendan John 23.12.67.

    He was also called up in 1950 under "Compulsory Military Training" and served in the Navy obtaining the rank of Acting Telegrapher.
