  • Fred Mosley joined the Territorials in May 1939 and was posted to Coastal Artillery. After Japan entered the war he went with 33 Heavy Regiment to Noumea and in 1944 was posted to Italy for the remainder of the war.

    Mosley is quoted in the Auckland War Memorial Museum exhibit 'War on our doorstep' of 'Scars on the Heart', 'On the morning of 6th January 1940, a naval boat at sea reported a submarine sighting. All look outs were doubled and all watches stood to guns...'
