  • I am amazed at how emotional I feel about finding information about Arthur. His life did matter and he has family members who want to honour his contribution. He was my Great Uncle and he and two other family cousins also died at Gallipoli and France. The photo I see of him blew me away because he looked so much like my nephew and other Peat male members. I was given a letter that Arthur wrote to his brother, on his way to Egypt, and I typed it out. It was written on NZ Expeditioney Forces letter head. It affected me deeply more so for the adventureous expedition he felt he was on. Knowing that he died three months later has left me feeling emotional about ANZAC day. This year we are going to Dunedin after the Dawn service in Invercargill, to honour my family members in Otago. He died at Chunuk Bair on 7 August 1915. I hope to attach the letter in the Biographical Information.
