  • Mr Rennie who was involved in the retaking of Bougainville from the Japanese says ' this was the RNZAF supporting Australian Army Division - a true ANZAC Force, a rare combination in WWII.'

    As he says 'I was very proud to have our efforts recognised by War Correspondents during the Campaign.'

    A photocopy of John Rennie's personal history and scrapbook of experiences in the Pacific is available in the Manuscript. Collection at the Auckland War Memorial Museum (MS 2002/40.)
