  • I wish to pay my respects to Bill, Friend of my Great Granddad Leslie Joseph 'Rosie' Roseman. They traveled to Egypt together on the Dominion Monarch in early 1941 and both served in the Div Cav. I first learned of Les' friendship with Bill through the discovery of Les' old photo album from the war. Inside I found photos of Bill and my Great Grandfather exploring Sydney on their way to war. Interested to find out more I went looking for any information on this friend. Sadly the results of this search showed that I was a year too late as it was early 2012 and Bill had sadly passed away. I will never forget Bill and his relation to my Poppy, Les. They were both young men, brought together in a time of conflict, heading off on a grand adventure that would cost so much. My well wishes go with Bill's family and I hope one day I can pass on the photos I have of him.
