  • Son of James and May (Manning) Roache

    After serving in Fiji, Arthur was shipped to Egypt on 25 March 1941. While away, his second son, Murray, died of whooping cough on 10 October 1941. Arthur was awaiting a return passage on compassionate grounds in November 1941 when he fell ill. He was returned to New Zealand in June 1942 and discharged as medically unfit in December 1942. AWMM
