  • After enlisting in the New Zealand Army in 1992 (service number J994091), Eddie Sanders transferred to the NZ SAS, then later the UK SAS (service number 250831).

    Peacekeeping (United Nations) : Yugoslavia, Bosnia, 1992-1995

    He was awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross for operation Trent in Afghanistan. This award is regarded as just below the VC (Victoria Cross) in ranking.
