  • Departed Suva 11 January 1941 on Aorangi, arriving Auckland 14 January 1941.

    Embarked Wellington 1 February 1941 on Nieuw Amsterdam (ship) from Wellington bound for Bombay,arrived 22 February 1941 -at Deolali 24 February to 11 March 1941; then departed on 12 March 1941 on Empress of Australia to Suez. Arrived Suez 22 March 1941.

    Departed Alexandria 18 November 1943 on 'Staffordshire'. Arrived Taranto 22 November 1943. Departed Taranto 23 October 1944 on 'Duchess '. Arrived Port Said 27 October 1944 on 'Bedford'. Departed Suez 23 November 1944 on 'Rauahi' Arrived Bombay 4 December 1944 staying at Kalyan Transit Camp'. Departed Bombay 16 December 1944 on 'General John Pope'. Arrived Wellington 3 January 1945.

    Standards of travel varied considerably, in the case of the travel to and from Fiji, it was of 3rd class standard. In the 'Rauahi' they had four meals a day but on the 'General John Pope' the servicemen had only two meals a day.
