    Mr Vanoosten met a New Zealander, Stephanie Lee (72144), serving on the Hospital Ship Oranje and they were married in Sydney.

    Copies of two volumes of Mrs Vanoosten's letters and photographs sent to her parents during her service in Egypt and on the hospital ship are held the the Museum Library Manuscript Collection MS 2002/186.
