    Embarked probably from Auckland and travelled on an old ship (Santa Monica) arriving in San Francisco (c20 -26 November 1943). From there he travelled by train to New York and from New York he sailed on the Queen Mary to Scotland and from Scotland he went to England. AWMM

  • A very clever man and hard taskmaster. Left school at the end of Form 2 which was then Standard 6 the furtherest one could go at Primary School before entering Secondary at Form 3.This shows the character of the man who then went on to become a bomber pilot which in itself was a great achievement
