  • Mr Knight enlisted in June 1940 and entered camp in October or November 1940

    Cenotaph record initially prepared with the serviceman in 1999. When the Nieuw Amsterdam embarked at Wellington for Egypt on 1 February 1941 it had on board the Third section of the 4th Reinforcements of 2NZEF (181 officers and 3559 other ranks). This included the 8 Field Company, 18 Army Troops Company, 21 Mechanical Equipment Company, 36 Survey Battery and 3 General Hospital. AWMM
