    Enlisted as John M. Beck. He is listed on his birth certificate as Hans Jebsen Beck, born 20 January 1878 in Tamaki Hawkes Bay (Birth Certificate sighted April 2016).

    Son of Anna Maria Beck (nee Hansen) and Matthias Beck of originally of Denmark. Brother of Matthias Beck (10/2855) who was killed in action during WWI (4 October 1917).
