  • Joseph Archibald Blair was the brother of my grandfather Donald John Robert Blair and was born at Hamilton, Victoria to Robert Gifford Blair and Janet (Jessie) Blair nee McNaughton. Joseph was a very independent young man and left Australia for New Zealand when he was approximately 17 years of age. Several years after World War One he visited his brothers Donald and Richard McNaughton Blair in Melbourne and I have a photo of the three of them on that occasion.
