    A memorial, an engraved brass shield is inside the St Albans Church, Whakapirau. The inscription reads: SACRED TO THE BELOVED MEMORY OF Tyrell de Labrosse OF THIS PARISH TROOPER 8th NEW ZEALAND CONTINGENT WHO DIED AT SEA ON HIS WAY HOME FROM SOUTH AFRICA July 17th 1903 – Aged 31. I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE, Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me thy rod, and thy staff they comfort me

    Listed as Delabrosse by Stowers (2004). Date of death incorrectly inscribed on the memorial plaque in St Albans. Registration report for New Zealand Historic Places Trust on St Albans Church, Whakapirau prepared 2009
