    Mr McLENNAN, WELL KNOWN KAURI SETTLER - The death occurred at Thames last night of Mr. Murdoch McLennan, at the age of 66 years. Mr. McLennan had been in ill health for the past few months.
    Third son of the late Mr. Norman McLennan, who settled at Kauri, after trying his luck in Nova Scotia, California and Australia, Mr. Murdoch McLennan was one of a family of eight sons and three daughters. Early in life he became a bush contractor and until 20 years ago, when he left for the Thames, was well known throughout the length and breadth of Northland.
    Noted Cricketer - In particular Mr. Murdoch McLennan was known as a cricketer of more than average ability, and he was no stranger to the sports fields in his younger days. When he was a noted runner. He served in the Boer War. In 1914 Mr. McLennan married Miss Nora Stirling, of Whananaki. He left the North about twenty years ago to undertake contracting work in the Thames district and there he later retired.
    A widow and four sons—Donald, Norman, Andrew and Graham —are left.

    Death Notice: McLennan. On April 19th, at Thames Hospital, Murdoch, dearly beloved husband of Nora McLennan, Thames (late of Kauri), in his 66th year. The funeral will leave Mr B. R.
