Carl William Auckland Moller was born on the 5 Oct 1876 aboard the ship `City of Auckland` enroute to NZ from London. Carl died in 1945 aged 68. I am unsure where he is buried, some of his siblings and both his parents are buried at Birkenhead Cemetery, Eskdale Rd.

The family came from London and settled in Whangarei where Carl's father Carl senior was a teacher at Kaurihohere School. Carl William Auckland (junior) was aged 18 when he passed his examination for employment as a teacher at the same school on 19 July 1894.

The family later moved to Whitford where they farmed, unfortunately their beautiful homestead on their property ' Fairview' at Broomfields Rd, Turanga Creek, Whitford, burnt down so in 1901 they relocated to Birkenhead, Northshore, Auckland.

Carl married Bertha Rhoda Priscilla WHITE of Howick on 15 Jan 1903. The White family were original settlers of Howick. They had three children; Gladys, Neville and Marjory Moller.

Carl is the son of Carl Otto Emanuel Moller [senior] and Florence Mary nee Chamberlain. Carl senior was born on 7 Feb 1850 in the Royal Stockholm Palace, Sweden as his father was a European Royal family portrait artist who was commissioned in the Stockholm Palace at the time. Florence was born 27 Apr 1849 in West Hackney, London, England.
The Mollers were part of the original settlers in Birkenhead and Carl senior helped establish the Birkenhead Cricket Club [then called Birkdale]. Moller Street is named after the family.
Carl William Auckland Moller's brother Lionel Robert Lester Moller married Jane McFetridge of McFetridge's farm in Glenfield. Lionel served two terms from 1927 to 1929 as a councillor on the Birkenhead Borough Council, Auckland during which time, E.G. Skeates was the Mayor and A. Hadfield was Deputy Mayor.
