    Attended St John's College 1900-09

    Member of the College Rifles Rugby Football Club

    Ex Samoan Expeditionary Force, he was discharged and subsequently re-engaged in 1916.

    The Auckland Museum Library's manuscripts collection holds correspondence by 17735 William Mandeno Smallfield describing Robert Proude's injuries and death. [Ref. MS 2007/37]
