    • Father was named Peter Sinclair. AWMM
    • John was born 29 Jun 1877 at Pleasant Point near Timaru to Peter SINCLAIR 1847-1929 & Annie MCDONALD 1849-1991. He was the eldest of eight children, his siblings being David Angus 1878, Annie 1880, Peter (Jerry) 1881, Margaret Catherine 1882, twins Jessie & Isabella born 1884 & died 1885, and Ronald 1886 .

      Peter from Caithness Scotland and Annie from Sutherland Scotland married at Swan Bay on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria Australia in 1876.

      At age 28 on 20 Jun 1906 John married Emily Martha CROSS, third daughter of the late Philip Decke CROSS (postmaster at Port Nelson), at the residence of his parents at Pohangina, Manawatu.

      John was a postal worker. He died 26 Dec 1928 at Thames Hospital, from Karaka Road, Thames and was buried 28 Dec 1928 at Shortland Cemetery.

      Annie MCDONALD died 1941 not 1991. The relevant paragraph should read as follws:
